James E. and Kathryn A. Cook Endowed Scholarship James E. Cook graduated from UW-Stout in 1953. He joined the faculty at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan, in 1958. After earning a doctorate degree in 1971, he returned to Kellogg. During his tenure at the college, he served as dean of instruction, vice president for research and development, and executive vice president. The scholarship is awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior with financial need in one of the following majors: technology education; career, technical education and training; engineering technology. The annual award is $400. Timothy Leis Timothy E. Crowell Family Memorial Scholarship Family and friends established this scholarship in honor and memory of Timothy Crowell, a 1986 UW-Stout graduate. Tim was employed for more than 20 years as a manager of plastic engineering with International Paper in Menomonee Falls. One of his biggest accomplishments was receiving a United States Design Patent for a container lid through his employer. He highly valued education and encouraged all those around him to continue pursuing their dreams through education. This scholarship has been created to provide financial support for students entering the field of plastics engineering so that they may also make their own contributions to this expanding field. The annual award is $1,000 Jacob Bowe Mary J. Crownhart Endowed Scholarship Mary J. Crownhart, a 1974 Stout graduate, died in 2002 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mary’s entire life was dedicated to serving and helping others. Through her estate plans, Mary created this scholarship for graduate students majoring in school counseling who are involved in professional and/or other organizations. The annual award is $1,000. Brianna Homich Estell and Nelda Curry Scholarship Estell and Nelda Curry were both 1931 graduates of Stout. Their scholarship supports an early childhood or family and consumer sciences education major. The annual award is $500. Karan Storlie
