Edward L. and Dorothy D. Decker Endowed Scholarship Carol A. Dobrunz, UW-Stout faculty emeriti, established this scholarship in honor and memory of her uncle and aunt, Edward and Dorothy Decker. The scholarships are awarded to junior or senior graphic design or applied science majors. The annual award is $2,000. Denise Beyer George C. and Gladys S. Decker Memorial Graduate Scholarship George Decker received his bachelor’s degree from UW-Stout in 1928. Both he and his wife, Gladys, a graduate of Carleton, worked in the U.S. Department of Education for many years. They appreciated their college experiences and recognized the importance of an applied education. Their scholarships are awarded to assist graduate students. Annual awards are $1,300 each. Bradford Dobrzynski Memorial Scholarship This scholarship was established in memory of Brad Dobrzynski who was a sophomore majoring in applied math at Stout. He was kind, athletic, intelligent and made a difference in the lives of those who knew him. The scholarship is awarded to a student of sophomore standing with a major in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. The recipient must be a Wisconsin resident with a minimum GPA of 3.5. The annual award is $1,000. Avery Wenzel Bill and Jan Dubats Endowed Engineering Scholarship Bill Dubats is a 1965 graduate of the Stout Industrial Technology program. He met and married Stout Junior Janel Marilyn Nelson in the same year. Jan became a homemaker, mom and helpmate as Bill progressed to an MBA degree at the University of Minnesota. This Scholarship is established in appreciation for the opportunities Stout offered to mature, grow, and learn more than 54 years earlier. The scholarship is awarded to a full-time sophomore, junior or senior student majoring in mechanical engineering, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
