Dr. Judith Herr Early Childhood Scholarship Dr. Judy Herr was a faculty member at the University for 39 years. She received her Bachelor and Master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, her doctorate degree from the University of Minnesota, and attended Harvard University’s Management Development Program. Dr. Herr was active nationally and internationally. She was President of the Midwest Association of Young Children, board member of the National Association for Early Childhood Teacher Education as well as numerous other boards. Her books have been translated into the Spanish, Korean, Chinese, and Arabic languages. Dr. Herr was also honored by Pia Chi University as the International Invitational Scholar and more recently received the James F. Huff Stout Award. This scholarship is awarded to an early childhood major who has senior standing with a 3.5 GPA or above and has met the requirements for admission into the School of Education. The annual award is $1,000. Eleanor Clarke Hill-Johnson-Crislip Family Endowed Scholarship Stephen and Mary Hill and their daughters and sons-in-law created this scholarship to assist students in furthering their knowledge, skill and interests in their chosen paths. The scholarship is awarded to a junior, senior or graduate student in one of the following majors: applied math; school counseling; hotel, restaurant and tourism management; management technology; technology education; career, technical education and training; or career and technical education. Participation in an extracurricular organization is required. The annual award is $1,000. Samantha Ziwicki Connie Jaye Hines Scholarship This scholarship was established by Connie Jaye Hines ‘78 in appreciation of her UW-Stout education and the mentoring she received from her professors. Having come from a single parent family, Connie knows the challenges and struggles that a single parent experiences. She has initiated this scholarship to assist a single parent enrolled as a full-time student with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher. The annual award is $1,000. Elizabeth Elza
