Eva M. Patchen Endowed Scholarship Eva Patchen lived all her life in Walworth County, Wisconsin. She willed funds to UW-Stout because she felt students should more readily be able to afford an education. Her scholarships are restricted to students in the following majors: dietetics; food science and technology; hotel, restaurant, and tourism management; human development and family studies; early childhood education and family and consumer sciences education. The recipient must also be a graduate of a high school in Walworth County. The annual award is $200. Nayeli Coronado Phi Upsilon Omicron Endowed Scholarship The members of Tau Chapter of Phi Upsilon Omicron established this scholarship for a member of Phi U who has attained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. The annual award is $300. Caroline Allaback graduated from Stout State College in 1958 and had a challenging teaching and administrative career in industrial and vocational education. His wife, Jo, is a former Menomonie resident and a strong advocate of education. Both of their daughters have teaching degrees. Curtis’ father graduated from the Stout Institute in 1926 and taught industrial education for 44 years. His mother was a home economics teacher for 30 years. Curtis’ sisters also earned degrees in teacher education. The Phillips family wishes to help the scholarship recipient to be a successful educator with the desire and ability to make the difference in students’ lives. The scholarship is awarded to a senior technology education major with a GPA of 3.25 or above through the first semester of their junior year (including all course work applicable to their degree) and who is active in student organizations and demonstrates leadership ability and submits the required essay. The annual award is $1,000. Michael Laska Curtis E. Phillips Family Technology Education Scholarship This scholarship recognizes a family history of educators. Curtis Phillips
