Martha Bubeck Schmidt Endowed Scholarship Her “intense interest in young people who are interested in human development and family life” prompted Martha Bubeck Schmidt, a 1934 Stout graduate, to establish a scholarship. Martha received two scholarships while attending Stout and knew that the scholarships made her education during the Great Depression possible. The scholarship is awarded to a student with financial need and with a major in one of the following: dietetics; food science and technology; human development and family studies; psychology; vocational rehabilitation; hotel, restaurant and tourism management; early childhood education or family and consumer sciences education. The annual award is $200. She taught for many years at Menomonie High School. Frances’ children established this scholarship in her memory, and it is awarded to an incoming freshman from Menomonie High School. The annual award is $500. Olivia Leipnitz Greg Schubert Endowed Scholarship Greg Schubert was an associate professor and director of the Stout Tele production Center until his death in 1978.
