Meet Your Advisor 2-3

Schedule Grids 4-5

Hello future Blue Devil: We’re happy you will be joining us this Fall! Your next step is to attend First-Year Registration and Orientation (FYRO). Your experience will be comprised of three steps: 1. Advising and Registration (virtual) – You’ll work with your First-Year Advisor and register for fall classes. 2. Orientation (on-campus) – We’ll help you build connections with campus, learn about the resources available, and pick up your UW-Stout issued laptop. 3. Week One (on-campus) – At the start of Fall semester we’ll welcome you to campus with events and activities to help you connect to campus. This booklet is intended to assist you through your first step, Advising and Registration! During your Registration Week you will get to know your first-year advisor, learn about what resources are available at UW-Stout, and register for your Fall 2021 classes! You will begin selecting your classes and will enroll on your registration date. Remember to regularly check your UW-Stout email in the upcoming weeks and over the summer for updates from UW-Stout and regarding your FYRO experience. Prior to First-Year Registration, you will receive an email from UW-Stout providing you with directions on how to access your online orientation course and inviting you to join. Then a few days before your registration date you will receive another email from your first-year advisor including recommendations on what classes to enroll in for Fall 2021. You will continue to work with your first-year advisor during your Registration week and throughout your first year at UW-Stout. Many pieces of UW-Stout’s orientation program will occur in Canvas. Canvas is similar to tools you may have used in high school for online learning such as Google Classroom or Blackboard. You will receive further information and directions regarding free software and apps needed for your FYRO experience within the Canvas course. Please feel free to contact us via email at orientation@uwstout.edu if you have questions or concerns regarding accessibility to the technology needed during your FYRO experience. Within this booklet you will find helpful information as you prepare for your virtual registration experience. We look forward to seeing you online in the coming weeks for First-Year Registration. In the meantime, if you have any questions now, during your registration week, or throughout the summer, please do not hesitate to contact your first-year advisor.
