First-Year Registration & Orientation Welcome to the University of Wisconsin-Stout! During your visit today, students and guests are split for parts of the day. Students, be sure you keep your materials with you as you will need them for registration. Thank you for joining us. We hope you enjoy today’s activities.

Blue Devil Market 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Memorial Student Center, Lower Level Grab a snack, breakfast sandwich, coffee, or a treat before you start your day. Brew Devils 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Memorial Student Center, Lower Level Your morning caffeine pick-me-up is waiting for you at Brew Devils. Enjoy your favorite Starbucks beverage while waiting for your day to begin.

Check-in at the welcome table prior to having your student take their ID photo and heading upstairs to the Great Hall for refreshments and the start of the day.

8:30 - 8:45 a.m. Welcome & Agenda Overview Memorial Student Center, Great Hall 8:50 - 9:20 a.m. Partnering for Success Memorial Student Center, Great Hall The Dean of Students will discuss college

transition topics including student behavior, safety, opportunities for campus engagement, FERPA, family resources and more. 9:25 - 10:55 a.m. Life on Campus Memorial Student Center, Great Hall Housing, Dining, Campus Card and Involvement Center panel discussion.

3:30 p.m. Career Services: Educate, Engage, & Empower Memorial Student Center, Ballroom A Learn how Career Services is dedicated to equipping students with the tools and skills necessary to reach their goals. A brief overview of the programs and resources available to engage and empower students throughout their college experience. What is Study Abroad & Why Should I Go Memorial Student Center, Ballroom B Join us to learn about what study abroad is all about and why this opportunity can be for your student! Hear from current students and discover the places students can study abroad and the courses they can take. We have programs for all majors!

Take a tour of our South campus including the Sports and Fitness Center, Memorial Student Center, Applied Arts and Jarvis Complex, Heritage Hall, and the Library. 2:00 p.m. Student Panel Memorial Student Center, Great Hall Hear from current students about their experience living on campus, attending classes, and everything in between.

Students’ mental and physical health is important to student success. Hear from the Stout Staff on how you can support your students’ mental and physical health while in college.

UW-Stout’s University Police Department leadership will provide an overview of what families and guests should know about student safety and security on campus.

Joint Guest/Student Sessions 11:00 - 11:35 a.m. Paying For School Memorial Student Center, Great Hall Embarking on the journey of higher education at UW-Stout is an exciting endeavor, but it’s crucial to understand the financial landscape to make informed decisions. Join us for an insightful presentation where we delve into the essential aspects of financing your education at UW Stout. Topics will include: understanding college costs, payment options, budgeting and financial planning, payment deadlines, and financial literacy and resources. We will also be sharing a tool that can be used to manage income and other sources as well as how to budget the cost of college attendance. This tool will empower you to manage your income no matter the source, enabling you to track expenses, set financial goals, and effectively budget the cost of college attendance.

12:30 - 12:55 p.m. Honors College Price Commons, Gilbert Creek

Required for all students already enrolled in the Honors College and strongly encouraged for those who are interested. Learn about the spirit of our Honors community, including expectations and requirements. We will also cover details about registering for Honors classes, which happens at the end of the day. Due to space constraints, parents are encouraged to attend the other breakout sessions. Join this session to learn more about employment opportunities available on campus. Learn how to go about applying for employment, how work study funds work, and hear about the variety of different positions available. This session will also discuss what paperwork students will need to complete with Human Resources prior to beginning on campus employment. On Campus Employment Price Commons, Cranberry Creek
