Honors College
One of the most rewarding parts of the program is an opportunity to design your dream project. These self directed projects can range from traditional academic research to creative works or service projects. You will come up with the idea, and have the opportunity to connect with a mentor who will work with you one on-one. The Honors College can help secure funding for materials, provide a chance to present your final product at a national conference and will support you in exploring something you’re truly passionate about. INDEPENDENT PROJECTS • Fabricating a photochemical reactor • Learning how to make a glass-blown chandelier • Researching the history of rugby and designing a plan to expand youth interest in the sport • Publishing a college cookbook, set of original poetry, or travel memoir • Building a 3D printer SOME RECENT PROJECTS
COLLOQUIA & EVENTS
Each semester, all Honors students participate in a common reading and discussion for one night over a meal, which we refer to as Honors Colloquium. In addition, students have the option to participate in numerous events from field trips to film screenings, invited speakers, service projects, social events and meals in the Honors lounge. There is always something exciting going on in Honors, and you can choose to get as involved as you’d like to be.
