112 Journal Student Research and political issues are deemed important, how people decipher the best political leader for themselves, and how individuals become activists and leaders in our current political landscape. As potential future leaders and social actors, college students can and should be studied to better understand the trajectory of government and politics. Future research should delve deeper into how the election of 2016 has affected young peoples’ perceptions of politics, how young individuals are purposefully becoming activists and leaders, and what students hope to see in the future of politics and government.
