> Hello Class of 2028!
A welcome message from your Stout Student Association President.
Hello! My name is Alex Cluphf, and I am the President of the Stout Student Association – your student government on campus. I’d like to extend you a warm welcome to University of Wisconsin Stout! Going to college can seem a little daunting, and even overwhelming at times. Just know that everyone here wants to see you succeed and help in any way we can. There are also a number of services on campus to give you the resources you need to succeed. A couple important ones I’ll mention are the Student Counseling Center and Student Health Services. The Student Counseling Center offers mental health counseling for free to Stout students - it is an excellent resource and one that I can personally recommend. We also have Student Health Services, which is an on campus clinic that offers free and low-cost healthcare services to students. At UW-Stout, we’re also proud to be home to a plethora of student organizations, teams, activities,
and clubs – over 150 of them, in fact. I hope you’ll take some time and find something that sounds interesting to you – and if you don’t see something you can always start your own organization! Attending university is, for most, a once-in-a lifetime experience, and I encourage you to take your time and get the most out of your time at UW-Stout. One of the best parts about UW Stout is that you have a voice on campus. The Stout Student Association, your student government, is made up of students just like you who represent your interests to campus officials and advocate for Stout students in the local, state, and federal governments. If you are interested in gaining leadership experience by becoming a representative yourself, or have an idea, question, or concern, feel free to contact me personally at ssapresident@ uwstout.edu or check out the SSA website at ssa.uwstout.edu.
