THE DEGREE
WHAT MAKES THIS DEGREE PROGRAM SPECIAL? The Master of Science in Career and Technical Education (MSCTE) program is designed for working professionals whose focus is on preparing youth or adults for successful careers through secondary, postsecondary, and adult education programs as well as private sector training programs. This program provides an opportunity for learners to build a solid knowledge base that supports further discipline-specific understanding and the development of leadership skills. Almost half of the credits are electives, allowing students to customize the degree to their career goals. CENTER FOR CTE EXCELLENCE The mission of the center is to offer programs and services that support and promote career and technical education in partnership with educational institutions, governmental agencies, business and industry, other non-profits, and professional associations. The center seeks to serve the CTE community by meeting the 21st century needs of K-12 and postsecondary technical educators who are at the forefront of workforce education. THE FOCUS • Professional development to enhance educators’ effectiveness • Establish a research agenda that influences policy and practice. • Communication and outreach to support quality CTE programs at the secondary and postsecondary levels.
