Fit to Perfection Alumna Hogan-Braker’s tailoring businesses help the average person and celebrities look like stars

Alumna Erin Hogan-Braker strives to find a perfect fit for every body type. Hogan-Braker, who graduated in 2005 with a degree in apparel design and development, owns two tailoring businesses with locations in Wisconsin and New York. Stitched Up, in Menomonie, is an untraditional tailoring shop, offering vintage denim for sale and traditional alterations. Stitched Up alters clothing for bridal and special events, and it carries by appointment high-end vintage apparel, including old-school denim.

“We tailor the jeans, so they fit perfectly,” the Menomonie native said. “Once you have jeans that fit right, the rest of your clothing feels ill-fitting. Sewing is an art, but it takes time.” Her second business, 7th Bone Tailoring, matches top commercial tailors with the world’s biggest brands and icons. At the September 2019 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, 7th Bone provided tailors to stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sam Rockwell and a corset top for Kim Kardashian. 7th Bone, founded in 2011, has bookings in New York, Los Angeles and Minneapolis with a clientele list that reads like a who’s who, with celebrities Jennifer Lopez to Hugh Jackman and companies including American Eagle, Victoria’s Secret and Bloomingdales.
