Nancy Werner Yow (’70) and husband, Ron, celebrated their 50th on April 20, 2022. Patrick (’72) and Lucy Schindler McCarthy (’72) celebrated 50 years on Feb. 24, 2023. They are retired educators. David (’72) and Janice Glines Wolf (’72) celebrated their 50th in May 2020. They are retired. Dick Rohde (’73) and wife, Kendra, celebrated their 50th on Sept. 22, 2023. Tom Zaborski (’73) and wife, Julia, celebrated their 50th with a trip to Puerto Rico. James Jacobus (’74) celebrated 48 years in August 2023. John (’74) and Ellen Schwab Plank (’74) celebrated their 48th in Sept. 2022. Bill (’76) and Sandra “Sam” Harden Pierquet (’77) celebrated their 45th in August. They met at UW-Stout. Sam is a retired business professional and professor, and Bill is a retired real estate executive with a thriving commercial real estate consulting business in Georgia. Mary Dirkzwager Ford (’77) and husband, Ken, celebrated their 45th in October 2022. They are retired and living in Texas. Kim Marion Carlton (’93) and Kristin Loomis Smith (’99) were recognized in the 2023 Women of the Channel, a globally recognized list of women who make a difference in their professional fields by the Channel Companies. Steve Kleist (’93) is the global continuous improvement director at 3M. Gale Story-Satchel (’93) retired from the Alabama Department of Education after serving 31 years in early childhood education to post-secondary education roles. Laurie Spoor Thompson (’94) recently published “You Are a Honey Bee!” and “You Are a Raccoon!,” the first two books in the Meet Your World series. Jeff Jacobs (’95) is chief facilities officer at UW-Green Bay. Renee Carrell (’96) retired as assistant director and student gallery coordinator of the UW Stout Furlong Gallery. She plans to write, draw, paint and raise chickens. Kate Pertzsch (’96) is senior interior designer at KAI in Dallas Fort Worth, Texas. Lucian Brown (’97) spent a week in Bogota, Colombia, Scott Wojcik (’97) is chief operating officer at Northflow Solutions in Mankato, Minn. 2000s Leslie Haynes (’01) has worked for the federal government and the Food and Drug Administration for 17 years. She is working with scientists who review COVID-19 vaccines and is doing associated work for public health and safety. Linda Young (’01) retired in December after more than 41 years in the Admissions office at UW-Stout. Linda was associate director of Admissions, Transfer and Articulation. Bryan Bisonette (’03) is co owner of Maxine’s Restaurant in Rice Lake. The restaurant celebrated its 35th anniversary in December. Janelle Frechette (’03) is a property manager at Gassen Management, CMCA certified, a Minnesota Realtor and treasurer for the Minnesota Speleological Survey. teaching and creating an American fried chicken restaurant.

Cindy Bourget (’15) is 2022-23 Wisconsin School Counselor of the Year. She is in the Elk Mound School District. David Sperling (’15) is a project manager for BRIGHT Research Partners in Minneapolis. Eric Velkoverh (’15) is a quality and test engineer for Machine Service Inc. in Green Bay. Chelsea Nelson (’16) is director of park operations at Raging Rivers Waterpark in Grafton, Ill. Jeremy Smith (’16) is sales order engineering manager at Laidig Systems Inc. Riley Colvard (’17) is assistant coach of the Des Moines Buccaneers. Brad Rasmussen (’17) is a school resource officer at Ripon Area School District. Jeff Coggins (’18) completed his MBA from California State University-Northridge. Michelle Jensen Lassa (’06) is clinical director at the Behavioral Health Clinic in Wausau and Stevens Point. Michelle Martin (’06) is public relations and marketing director at Spooner Health. Kirsten Raney (’06) was appointed the first female president of Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Holli Ostman Roberts (’06) is director of learning experiences and engagement at Choice Hotels. Bryan (’06) and Stacy Weichelt (’06) are owners and operators of Marshfield North Storage in Marshfield. Bryan Horwath (’07) is business editor for the Las Vegas Sun newspaper. Megan McKenna (’07) is director of specialty concepts and new project development lead at the Bartolotta Restaurants. Elena Mercurio (’09) and Thomas Hynes (’10) were among winners of the Airbnb OMG!Fund contest They received $100,000 to bring the design to life. 2010s Ross Harried (’10) was featured in Peta Pixel for his photo of a fox he took with his DYI DSLR camera. Dylan Lienhardt (’10) is senior vice president of Miron Construction Inc. in Madison. Leah Hauck-Mills (’12) received accreditation in public relations through Public Relations Society of America. Rhondi Love (’12) opened Edith Cocktail Bar in downtown Milwaukee. Sara Franc (’14) is a communications officer at Georgia Institute of Technology. She has also been accepted into the University of Georgia’s Grady School of Journalism where she is pursuing an M.A. in journalism and mass communication, with an emphasis on emerging media.

1970s Robert Stenner (’70) retired from the Pacific Northwest Laboratory. He was a toxicologist and nuclear engineer/health physicist. He also served 11 years on the National Fire Protection Association Hazmat Committee. Lance (’72) and Karen Bell (’72) are artists in Ajo, Ariz. Lance manages the AUA Fine Arts Gallery and published his first book of black and white photography of the Sonoran Desert. Scott Cabot (’78) leads the ground school and continuing education efforts at the Morey Airplane Company at Middleton Municipal Airport. David Deutsch (’78) retired in March 2021 after 22 years with the information technology group at Donaldson Company Inc. Bloomington, Minn. 1980s Carol Friesen-Schroeder (’80) retired after six years in public health and 32 years teaching at the university level, including professor emeritus of nutrition and dietetics from Ball State University. She has moved to Vicksburg, Mich., and is looking forward to reading, gardening, fishing and traveling. Margaret Gress (’80) retired from teaching family and consumer science and early childhood education in December 2022. She taught for 42½ years for Pinellas County Schools, the last 36 at Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg, Fla. Allison Locke Schelitzche (’81) owns Babbitt’s Wine Bar in Sauk Centre, Minn. Drew Fennema (’82) retired in September 2022 after working 39 years for Ford in marketing, sales and service. Jane Hall Hinrichsen (’82) retired from North High School in North St. Paul, Minn. She is enjoying retirement in Florida with her husband, Klaus. She makes quilts and sews garments for her Etsy shop.

James Merrill (’83) retired as a technology lead from InfoSys Technologies. Daniel Fischer (’84) retired as a staff design engineer after more than 36 years with Plexus Corp. in Neenah. Chuck (’85) and Dawn Graunke Moder (’85) have retired. Chuck worked in engineering, managerial and continuous improvement for electronics, food processing and packaging industries. Dawn worked in engineering and quality assurance roles for apparel and related industries. Dallas Olson (’86) retired as vice president of global engineering at Goodyear Tire, where he worked for more than 36 years. Kerm Towler (’87) earned a Master’s of divinity and a theology and the arts graduate certificate from the Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. Elihu Washburne Wear (’87) is president and owner of Popco Inc. and has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. Eric Harmon (’89) retired after 34 years of teaching special education at Baldwin-Woodville High School. Jill Soltau (’89) is a member of the Southwest Airlines board of directors. 1990s Dave Teske (’90) retired from teaching in the Kiel Area School District, where he taught for more than 32 years. Stephanie Frazier Mecus (’91) is senior client relationship specialist for DEKRA North America. Ruth Wikoff-Jones (’91) is program manager of business development with Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI) in Minneapolis Kellie Grengs (’92) is a senior lecturer in the department of human communications and theatre, teaching theatrical costume design at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
