“I grew up in a quiet, small town in Northern Wisconsin and ever since my first kayaking trip to Canada I’ve always loved traveling. I spent a semester abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I learned more about myself 6,000 miles from home, surrounded by people whose language was different than mine, than I ever thought I would have. Studying abroad has opened my mind to appreciate cultural differences and has grown my passion for engineering.”
EDUCATION ABROAD: Experience innovative and career-focused learning domestically or internationally through various education abroad opportunities. Options to study abroad vary from a week to a whole semester. uwstout.studioabroad.com NATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE (NSE): Study in the U.S., its territories or Canada and pay UW-Stout tuition. www.nse.org

“I came to UW-Stout because I wanted to run track. It was definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I grew so much during my time here and met my closest friends. Being a student athlete enhanced my experience at Stout because I had to learn how to utilize my time and make the most out of everything. I found that I was performing better in the classroom as well because my coaches and peers had high expectations for me, and as an athlete you never want to let them down. I wouldn’t have traded that for anything.”

New freshmen are likely to be admitted if they rank in the top 50% of their graduating class or have earned a minimum ACT composite score of 22 (or SAT equivalent). The following is a profile of our most recently admitted freshmen: CLASS RANK: TOP 50% GPA: 3.0-3.5 ACT: 21-24
