Your Home Away from Home.

Movie and game nights. Communal cooking. Open mics. Late night study sessions and brainstorms. Overtime playoff wins. Comedians and concerts. Campuswide cookouts. Some of your biggest college memories will happen outside of class. And it all starts at Stout.

Reserving Your Room Is as Easy as 1-2-3

Step 1: Complete Your UW-Stout Housing & Dining Contract

1

Think of signing your housing and dining contract like getting access to presale tickets before they go on sale. The sooner you sign your contract, the closer to the front of the line you’ll be for room options in December. Check your UW-Stout email for details and get a front row seat to your college experience! (We know you get a lot of emails, so we also sent some of this information to your personal email address; however, future emails will only be sent to your Stout email.) UWStout.edu/Housing-Gateway Reminder: Signing your housing contract only reserves your place in the room selection queue. Your selection date is determined by the date you sign your contract and pay your prepayment. Sign Your Housing Contract

Are You Required to Live on Campus?

“Students are required to live on campus their first two years after high school, unless they are exempt from the policy below: Those freshman and sophomore students (59 credits or less) who are not veterans, married or living with parents or legal guardians (within a 40-mile driving distance of Menomonie), shall be required to live in a university-operated residence hall.”

University of Wisconsin Board of Regents’ Housing Policy

Step 2: Plan Your Room Selection

2 3

Even before signing your housing and dining contract, you can explore your accommodation and dining options. Our housing team works tirelessly to ensure life out of class is unforgettable no matter where you live, but if you’re coming to Stout with a roommate or looking for a specific learning community, a little planning will make sure you’re ready for room selection in December. What to Expect • Look for room selection instructions in your UW-Stout email in early/mid-November • Room selection will occur on the Housing Gateway in late December. Step 3: Get Ready to Move In! Driving into Menomonie, your Stout experience begins as soon as the iconic clocktower comes into view. You’ll pass rows of flags and banners emblazoned with Stout’s “S” as you pull up to your residence hall. And you’ll enter the main lobby of your new home using your Stout BlueCard for the first time—the first of many firsts yet to come. Get ready to unpack, settle in, and do more on day one. Insider Tip If you did not get your BlueCard before arriving to campus, arrive between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to get your photo taken with the Campus Card Office. What to Expect • Move-in begins on Thursday, January 22 at 8:00 a.m. • You will check in directly at your residence hall front desk. • Check your email for specific information about your move-in timeline.

The Power of Community

Without a doubt, you’re going to create friendships at Stout that last a lifetime— through industry-sponsored projects, during open lab hours, in student organizations—and if you’re looking to kickoff your Stout adventure with a roommate or in a dedicated learning community, you can do that, too. If you have a roommate in mind who is already living on campus, they will have the ability to add you into their room if there is a vacancy. Otherwise, no worries, you can look for a half open room during your selection time and select a roommate that way. Roommates
