Erik Thurin Memorial Scholarship This scholarship was established as a memorial to Erik Thurin’s lifelong interest in languages, literature and scholarship. He was a professor in UW-Stout’s English Department from 1968 until his retirement in 1993. The scholarship is designated for a professional communication and emerging media major. The annual award is $1,000. Kelsey Galbraith David Tillman Endowed Graphic Arts Management Scholarship David Tillman received a B.S. degree in industrial technology in 1975. He has worked in sales and management at RR Donnelley in Minneapolis/St. Paul for more than 30 years. This scholarship which supports an individual majoring in cross- media graphics management is his way of giving something back to UW-Stout in appreciation of the education he received. The annual award is $300. Taiyah Tarter Daniel Timm Memorial Scholarship Dan Timm, a 1981 Stout graduate, passed away shortly after graduation. His father established this scholarship in Dan’s memory to enable students to afford their education more easily. The annual award is $100. John (“Jake”) Thomas Specifically, in honor of Harold H. Halfin, a Stout State College Professor, veteran and mentor. Professor Halfin dedicated his career to encouraging students to develop not just vocational skills but life skills. This scholarship is for any student that majors in Industrial Education or Engineering, in addition to be an active duty, retired or honorably discharged military service member, or the son or daughter of any active duty, retired or honorably discharged military service member. The candidate may be from any branch of the military. The annual award is $1,000. Olivia Hile Troeller Family Scholarship The Troeller Family Scholarship is in appreciation of all UW-Stout faculty.
