Annual and Endowed Scholarships

Freshman Legacy Annual Scholarship It’s something to be proud of when a family makes a tradition of attending the University of Wisconsin-Stout. The Freshman Legacy Scholarship honors students who had a family member graduate from or attends UW-Stout. This scholarship is a one-time award for incoming, first-time students who demonstrate a strong connection to the Blue Devil Legacy. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. The annual awards are $500 each. Abigail Filipiak Alexis Vrieze Briley Hansen Chinou Yang Linda L. Funk Annual Scholarship Linda Funk is a 1976 Stout graduate. Linda so appreciates her education from Stout, she wishes to give back by awarding this scholarship to Family and Consumer Science Education, Dietetics or Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism majors. Preference will be given to freshmen. The annual award is $1,000. Brenna Manecke William R. Funk Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was funded through a bequest from the estate of William R. Funk, who passed away in 1999. William received a B.S. degree in technology education from UW-Stout in 1942. The scholarship is awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior in one of the following majors: engineering technology, manufacturing engineering, plastics engineering or packaging. Other requirements include a 3.0 or higher GPA and financial need. The annual award is $1,800. Gervase Thompson John and Frances Furlong Art Scholarship From 1963 to his retirement in 1985, John Furlong served as assistant to the president and chancellor at UW-Stout. He was also instrumental in establishing the art major at Stout, and Furlong Art Gallery was named in his honor. John and his wife, Frances, established this scholarship to aid students majoring in the field of art. The annual award is $1,200. Jessica Maedke
