Annual and Endowed Scholarships

Erik Jon Odness Endowed Scholarship Erik Odness was a senior majoring in industrial technology when he was tragically killed while home on summer vacation in 1989. This scholarship, established in his memory by Phi Omega Beta Fraternity, family and friends, is awarded to a senior majoring in engineering technology. Requirements also include a 3.0 GPA and financial need. The annual award is $400. John (“Jake”) Thomas Olive’s Branch Scholarship Mary E. Van Hout, a 1974 UW Stout graduate established this scholarship in honor of her Grandmother, a lifelong learner, a teacher and a loving, compassionate woman who was a role model for many. This scholarship is for a full-time incoming freshmen from Wisconsin with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and has financial need. The annual award is $1,500 Chinou Yang Steven C. Olmstead Endowed Memorial Scholarship Steven Olmstead graduated from UW-Stout in 1992 with a degree in general business administration. He had a rare heart condition and died of a heart attack in 1993. The scholarship was established in Steve’s memory by his family and friends to assist a junior or senior business administration major with a 3.0 or above GPA. The annual award is $8,000. Haylee Leonard Norman (Tom) Olson FOB Memorial Scholarship Alumni and brothers of the Phi Omega Beta Fraternity established a scholarship to honor the work and life of Tom Olson, a founding brother and loyal member who passed away in 1988. The scholarship is awarded to a male student who has achieved academic success and is involved in extracurricular activities. The annual
