Annual and Endowed Scholarships

Phillips-Medisize Plastics Engineering Scholarship The scholarships are awarded to students in the plastics engineering program to support incoming freshmen and returning sophomores pursuing a plastics engineering degree. Plastics engineering graduates are highly desirable and are important for the economic development in this region, and these scholarships were formed to attract more students to the program and educate students about Phillips-Medisize. The annual award is $500 for a freshman and $1,500 for a sophomore. Morgan Gale Bayen Lemmon Robert L. Pierce Scholarship Robert L. Pierce was a prominent Menomonie businessman and member of the State University Board of Regents at the time of his death in 1968. His widow established this unrestricted fund with memorial gifts from their many friends. The annual award is $100. Alexa Gravunder Sten Pierce Memorial Endowed Scholarship Stennett B. Pierce taught physical education and served as head football, wrestling and golf coach during his 34-year career at UW-Stout. Sten’s vision was instrumental in the development of the university’s golf enterprise management program. The scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior from Wisconsin or Minnesota enrolled in the golf enterprise management program. The annual award is $500. Jason Bach Arnold and Donna Piersall Technology Education Endowed Scholarship Arnold Piersall was a member of the UW-Stout faculty from 1960 to 1988, and Donna worked for the Stout Foundation until her retirement. The Piersalls provide a scholarship for a technology education major. The annual award is $800. Michael Laska
