2020 Scholarship Reception Booklet

Michael Reetz Endowed Scholarship Michael Reetz was a 1992 Stout graduate and was employed by 3M in the packaging department. He died in 1994 as a result of a car accident. The scholarship was initiated in Mike’s memory by family, friends and co-workers at 3M for a junior or senior packaging major. The annual award is $300. Michael Cops Randy Replinger Memorial Scholarship Randy Replinger received a master’s degree in audiovisual communications from UW-Stout in 1974. He was a member of the electronic engineering faculty of Southwest State University in Minnesota. His wife and son established this scholarship in his memory after his death in 1984. The scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior information technology management major with a 3.0 or above GPA. The annual award is $300. Rachel L. Erickson Resilience Scholarship Kim Polzin, a 1978 UW-Stout graduate, established this scholarship with her husband, Jeffrey Benny, to support students with significant financial need due to unexpected circumstances such as the loss of or significantly reduced family income, so that the student may begin or continue his/her studies. When Kim’s father died unexpectedly during her sophomore year at UW-Stout, he left a young family with children in elementary, junior high and high school as well as Kim in college. Financial aid and scholarships helped Kim to continue at Stout, becoming the first in her family to earn a college degree. This scholarship is one-way Kim can pay it forward, so another student can find resilience in times of adversity. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who is studying in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Management or the College of Education, Hospitality, Health and Human Sciences.
