Annual and Endowed Scholarships

Roger Reuther Memorial Scholarship Roger Reuther passed away in June 2006 after a courageous five-year battle with multiple myeloma. Roger graduated from Stout State College in 1961 receiving a B.S. in industrial education and also a M.S. in industrial education in 1965. He was employed by the School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee for 34 years, first as an industrial arts teacher and ending his career as a supervisor of vocational education programs. Roger was dedicated to his career in education, encouraging students to further develop their tech ed skills as well as employing UW-Stout graduates as technology education teachers. This scholarship is given in Roger’s memory by his wife, Anne (BS ‘61, MS ‘84) and son, Chris (MS ‘97). The scholarship is awarded annually to a future technology education teacher. The annual award is $1,500. Kasey Bass Lucille W. Reynolds Scholarship Lucille Reynolds was a 1909 graduate of UW-Stout. Through her will she provided a scholarship fund for students enrolled in the following majors: hotel, restaurant and tourism management; dietetics; food science and technology; human development and family studies; vocational rehabilitation; early childhood; and family and consumer sciences education. The annual award is $100. Jayden Navis Rice Industries Inc. Metal Casting Scholarship Ross Vass, a 1984 and 1991 UW-Stout Graduate, spent his entire career in the Metal Casting Industry, from building tooling, teaching Metal Casting Technology for the American Foundry Society, running an investment casting plant , to his current position of President of Rice Industries, Inc., a leading supplier of expendables and training to the Metal Casting Industry. Ross fondly remembers being on this stage accepting scholarships during his years at UW-Stout and felt it was time to establish this scholarship for students who are interested in the Metal Casting Industry. This $1,500 award will go to an Engineering or Technology Education student who is a member of the UW-Stout AFS (American Foundry Society) or has done an internship, co-op or work a summer job in a Metal Casting plant or Patternshop.
