James Sand Endowed Scholarship Phi Omega Beta Fraternity, family and friends initiated this scholarship in memory of James Sand who received a B.S. degree in 1958 and a M.S. degree in 1965 from UW-Stout. At the time of his death in 1993, Jim was affiliated with Kimberly Clark, Neenah, Wisconsin. The scholarship is awarded to a graduate student seeking a master’s degree in education. The scholarship also requires financial need and a 3.0 or above GPA. The annual award is $900. Maria Berseth Roger and Tim Schaefer Endowed Scholarship In grateful anticipation of future success of the students now at Stout, Roger and Tim Schaefer offer this scholarship to either (1) transfer students from Wisconsin technical colleges majoring in an education program with preference to Technology Education , or Career and Technical Education, (2) to a Menomonie High School graduate enrolled in any program at Stout that has at least an 80% placement rating. Preference to students in ROTC. The annual award is $1,000. Michael Laska Daniel M. Schedler Memorial Scholarship Family and friends established this scholarship in memory of Daniel Schedler who died in an automobile accident in April of 1993, a few months following his graduation. With the guidance of UW-Stout faculty and the help of classmates, Daniel was able to reach his full potential as a student and as a young man prepared to begin his career in the hospitality profession. Requirements for the scholarship include: hotel, restaurant and tourism management major; 2.5 GPA; sophomore or above standing; financial need; and involvement in professional or other organizations.
