Annual and Endowed Scholarships

Virgil, Minnie, Melvin and Madalene Scott Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established in memory of Virgil, Minnie and Melvin Scott and Madalene Scott Doyle Overstreet. The intent of the scholarship is to assist a student from northwestern Wisconsin to more readily afford a UW-Stout education. The annual award is $600. Vallie Meyer Gary and Maxine Searle Family Endowed Scholarship Gary Searle was a member of the UW-Stout faculty from 1976-1996. Under his leadership the Stout DECA Chapter was formed and was recognized for excellence on local, state and national levels. Requirements for the scholarship include: marketing and business education major, must have completed one year in the program, 2.75 GPA, involvement in MBEA. The annual award is $100. Madelyn Wilmot Dr. Robert A. Sedlak Endowed Graduate Scholarship This scholarship was established by family and friends in honor and memory of Robert A. Sedlak who passed away in 2006. Bob was a faculty member in the School of Education, as well as provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at UW-Stout. He was a model of leadership who emphasized personal responsibility, listening, and putting the needs of the organization ahead of personal interest. His work serves as a constant reminder that service to students and colleagues is to be valued more highly than personal gain and that learning is our life’s work. The scholarship is awarded to a graduate student in an education program. Preference is given to an online student. The annual award is $400. Jessica Hansen
