2021 Scholarship Reception Booklet

Linda L. Funk Annual Scholarship Linda Funk is a 1976 Stout graduate. Linda so appreciates her education from UW- Stout, she wishes to give back by awarding this scholarship to family and consumer science education, dietetics or hotel, restaurant and tourism management majors. Preference will be given to first year students. The annual award is $1,000. Ava Barwek William R. Funk Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was funded through a bequest from the estate of William R. Funk, who passed away in 1999. William received a B.S. degree in technology education from UW-Stout in 1942. This scholarship is awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior student majoring in engineering technology, manufacturing engineering, plastics engineering, or packaging with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and a financial need. The annual award is $1,800. Madison Wendt John and Frances Furlong Art Scholarship From 1963 to his retirement in 1985, John Furlong served as assistant to the president and chancellor at UW-Stout. He was instrumental in establishing the art major at UW-Stout, and the Furlong Art Gallery was named in his honor. John and his wife, Frances, established this scholarship to aid students majoring in the field of art. The annual award is $1,100. Nicole McConville Jan W. Gabrielson Memorial Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established by Ron Gabrielson in memory of his son, Jan W. Gabrielson. Jan was a 1971 UW-Stout graduate who majored in psychology with a sociology minor. Ron wishes to recognize how much Jan enjoyed his years at UW-Stout and provide an opportunity for other students to receive a UW-Stout education. This scholarship is awarded to a psychology major with a GPA of 3.0 or greater and financial need. The annual award is $1,000. Abigail Moore-Reich
