Annual and Endowed Scholarships

Philip H. McGuirk Freshman Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management Scholarship The Philip H. McGuirk Freshman Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management Scholarship began through the generosity of UW-Stout alums Thomas and Susan Dodson Wollwert, both 1990 hospitality program graduates. They credited Phil McGuirk as having the most impact on their careers through his mentorship. To show their appreciation, honor Phil, and grow the hotel, restaurant, and tourism management program, Susan and Thomas provided a donation in his name. The scholarship is awarded to an incoming first-year student majoring in the hotel, restaurant, and tourism management program with a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and demonstrated involvement in the hospitality industry, related high school club, or other community volunteerism. Touched by their donation, Phil McGuirk also contributed to the fund with the understanding it would be directed to students in the hotel, restaurant, and tourism management program.
