2021 Scholarship Reception Booklet

Tom Allen Student Leadership Scholarship Charles “Tom” Allen spent his professional career at UW-Stout in the department of psychology from 1970 until his retirement in 2008. Teaching was his passion, as was faculty government and curriculum development. He was recognized for his dedication to the democratic process and his efforts to get out the vote, particularly with UW-Stout students. The annual award is $1,000. Malena Larson Alpha Phi Sorority Endowed Scholarship The Alpha Phi Sorority Endowed Scholarship was established through donations from alumni and active members of the Gamma Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi. This scholarship will help a sister by funding a positive educational experience and fulfilling her educational requirements. Alpha Phi assists women in making informed choices to reach their highest potential. Sisters share a strong commitment to excellence and a strong desire to help each another and their communities. Alpha Phi enhances and promotes each member’s development and learning by focusing on sisterhood, service, scholarship, love, loyalty, and character development. Alpha Phis are lifetime members of a sisterhood that values these traits. This scholarship is awarded to an active junior or senior member who has exhibited these traits through leadership and personal achievements while maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The annual award is $700. Sarah Webber Alpha Sigma Alpha Endowed Scholarship This memorial scholarship was established by Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority sisters, friends, and family to honor the memory of Penny Radke, Lynette Beatty and Mary Baker Sabin. This scholarship will continue to be funded by future memorial gifts in honor of Beta Pi Chapter sisters. Recipients of this scholarship will have demonstrated leadership in an organization that supports women. The annual award is $400. Jewel Ryan Alumni Association Graduate Student Scholarship This scholarship was established with endowed funds accrued from past collected dues of lifetime memberships of the Stout Alumni Association. This scholarship is offered to graduate students pursuing a master’s degree at UW-Stout. The annual awards are $1,000 each.
