John C. Neuenfeldt Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established in honor and memory of John C. Neuenfeldt, a lifelong teacher, mentor and educator. He spent 27 years teaching in the math department at UW-Stout. John passed away Nov. 29, 1995. The scholarship is awarded to an applied math major with a 3.0 or higher GPA. The annual award is $100. Jacob Halverson Lucy and Mike Nicolai Wisconsin in Scotland Scholarship Lucy and Mike Nicolai are UW-Stout retirees that have been involved in the Wisconsin in Scotland program multiple times. Lucy served as the resident director and Mike taught several communication courses as a resident faculty member. Lucy and Mike found the experiences of Wisconsin in Scotland life-changing for students and are dedicated to getting more students involved. Recipients of this award must be enrolled in the Wisconsin in Scotland program and have financial need. Otto Nitz Endowed Scholarship Otto Nitz was a revered UW-Stout faculty member remembered for his love of chemistry and for mentoring many of the students who had the privilege of having him as their teacher. This scholarship is awarded to applied science majors who have maintained a 3.0 or above GPA. The annual award is $400. Jordan Kunze Noesen Family Endowed Scholarship The Noesen family has a deep history connected with UW-Stout. Kenneth and Mary Jo met at Stout State College their first year at a dance in Hovlid Hall and married their senior year. Mary Jo graduated in 1966. Kenneth graduated in 1967 and earned a master’s degree in 1972. Two of their three children graduated from UW-Stout as well. Nick graduated in 1994 and Nancy in 1988. Nancy was also a professor at UW-Stout from 1999-2013. A third generation, Nancy’s daughter, Catherine, will graduate in 2021. Upon graduation, Kenneth and Mary Jo started their teaching careers in Barron, Wis., and later owned a photography business. The Noesen family wishes to support students from their home county, Barron, pursuing a degree at UW-Stout. The annual award is $1,000. Jasmyn Collins
