2021 Scholarship Reception Booklet

Olive’s Branch Scholarship Mary E. Van Hout, a 1974 UW-Stout graduate, established this scholarship in honor of her grandmother, a lifelong learner, teacher, and loving, compassionate woman who was a role model for many. This scholarship is for a full-time incoming first-year studentfrom Wisconsin with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and financial need. The annual award is $1,500. Julie McIntire Steven C. Olmstead Endowed Memorial Scholarship Steven Olmstead graduated from UW-Stout in 1992 with a degree in general business administration. He had a rare heart condition and died of a heart attack in 1993. This scholarship was established in Steve’s memory by his family and friends to assist a junior or senior business administration major with a 3.0 or above GPA. The annual award is $8,000. Emma Levendowski Norman (Tom) Olson FOB Memorial Scholarship Alumni and brothers of the Phi Omega Beta Fraternity established this scholarship to honor the work and life of Tom Olson, a founding brother and loyal member who passed away in 1988. The scholarship is awarded to a male student who has achieved academic success and is involved in extracurricular activities. The annual award is $200. Ethan Foss Travis N.T. Olson and Lucille M. Olson Scholarship Through a bequest from Travis N.T. Olson and Lucile M. Anderson Olson, this fund provides scholarship support to UW-Stout students. Lucile graduated from UW- Stout in 1957 with a degree in family and consumer sciences education. She married Travis N. T. Olson in 1959. Travis graduated with a Ph. D. in pharmaceutical technology and industrial engineering in 1960. Lucile taught school in Wisconsin and Michigan until her retirement in 1990. They were involved in gardening, church work, and traveled extensively around the world. These scholarships are for family and consumer sciences education majors who are residents of Michigan, Minnesota, or Wisconsin. The annual awards are $2,000 each.
