Russell and Lauretta Amling Scholarship The Russell and Lauretta Amling Scholarship is in appreciation of Russ’s 1966 UW-Stout M.S. in industrial education. This scholarship was established in gratitude of the opportunities afforded to Russ as a young student beginning his education and career. Russ credits the support and mentoring he received from his professors to his success at teaching industrial technology. This scholarship is awarded to any first-year student with a minimum 2.5 high school GPA and in financial need. The annual award is $500. Lindsey Niehaus William and Dorothy Amthor Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established by William and Dorothy Amthor. William Amthor received his B.S. in industrial education from the Stout Institute in 1950 and went on to earn his Master of Science in 1955 from Stout State College, and later his doctorate from Texas A&M in 1965. He returned to Menomonie where he taught at UW-Stout for 34 years, retiring in 1989 as professor emeritus in the school of industry and technology in the graphic communications department. Professor Amthor established the first computer lab on campus and contributed to the university and the Menomonie community in numerous ways. The annual award is $1,000. Alec Kokko-Ludemann Fanchon A. Johnson Amundson Endowed Memorial Scholarship Elden Amundson established this scholarship in honor and memory of his wife, Fanchon A. Johnson Amundson. She received a bachelor’s degree in home economics education from UW-Stout in 1938. This scholarship is awarded to an early childhood or family and consumer sciences education major. The annual award is $1,500. Paityn Tiefs Andersen Corporation Plastics Engineering Scholarship Andersen Corporation supports the advancement and growth in enrollment within the UW-Stout plastics engineering curriculum, and continued graduation of plastics engineers within the St. Croix Valley area.
