2022 Scholarship Awards

Violette Parsons Weeks Endowed Scholarship Violette Parsons Weeks received a B.S. degree in home economics in 1930 and a M.S. degree in home economics education in 1941. She taught at Milwaukee Vocational School for more than 43 years. The scholarship is awarded to a student with financial need who is enrolled in dietetics, food science and technology, hotel, restaurant, and tourism management, human development and family studies, early childhood education, family and consumer sciences education, vocational rehabilitation, or pyschology majors. The annual award is $1,800. Hannah Gullixson Charles P. Wegner Memorial Scholarship Charles Wegner, a 1917 Stout graduate, taught industrial arts and mechanical drawing in Minnesota for 38 years. This scholarship is for a technology education major was established by his daughter and her husband, Caroline and Hank Tourville. The annual award is $400. Kyle Schlicht Weidner Center Scholarship Dean Weidner is the founder and owner of Weidner Apartment Homes, a property management firm in Kirkland, Wash. Weidner first became aware of UW-Stout’s real estate property management program when his company recruited some graduates. He indicated the students had outstanding qualifications, and that he wanted to help develop the program further. Weidner’s three-part goal is to broaden the exposure of the program, grow the number and quality of the courses, and expand it through giving students incentives to enroll through scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to real estate property management majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The annual awards vary from $500 to $2,500.
