Stout University Foundation Scholarships

Jeffrey D. Weis Memorial Packaging Scholarship Jeff Weis, a 1979 graduate, worked as a packaging sales account manager for over 30 years in the corrugated industry. Jeff’s generosity, integrity, kindness, and humor were qualities that were valued by his many friends and colleagues. This scholarship was established by his wife Pamela Demski Weis, BS 1980, family, friends and the Ebert Family Foundation to honor his memory. The endowed scholarship is awarded to a sophomore or junior majoring in packaging with financial need. The annual award is $1,300. Joseph Gierl Henrietta Wells Dietetics Scholarship Henrietta Wells, a 1916 Stout graduate, was a dietitian in veterans’ hospitals for most of her career. Her scholarship is designated for a dietetics major. The annual Jim and Lou Tiffany Welter Endowed Scholarship Lou Tiffany Welter, a 1976 UW-Stout graduate with a B.S. in home economics education, specializing in clothing, textiles, and design, established this scholarship in appreciation of the scholarships she received while attending UW-Stout. Lou participated in UW-Stout women’s basketball, track and field, and cross-country teams as well as intramural athletic teams. She hopes the student recipient of this scholarship will also experience the rewards of participating in similar activities during their college career. Lou hopes to help a student financially by starting the student out on the path to completing their degree. This scholarship can be renewed for additional years if the student recipient maintains the established criteria and follows the normal Foundation scholarship of applying each year. The annual award is $1,000. Emma Krejci David W. Wendt Endowed Scholarship David Wendt, after graduating from UW-Stout, taught mechanical engineering at UW-Madison and held various engineering positions before founding Design Concepts Inc., a highly successful product design firm located in Madison. This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior industrial design major with a 3.0 GPA. The annual award is $1,200. Daniel Neve award is $300. Jordyn Springer
