Stout University Foundation Scholarships

Deborah Douglas Wesolek Scholarship Deborah Douglas Wesolek graduated from UW-Stout in 1970 with an undergraduate degree in home economics education and a master’s degree in 1984. She taught family and consumer sciences education in the Chippewa Falls Unified School District for 21 years and supervised many student teachers from UW-Stout during that time. This scholarship was established to assist a student in the area of family and consumer sciences education as he/she embarks on the student teaching experience. It is to be awarded to a deserving student with a GPA of 3.0and with a well-expressed need for financial assistance related to travel and other living expenses required for successful completion of his/her student teaching experience. The annual award is $500. Amanda Taylor WestAIR Annual Scholarship WestAIR Inc. is a Minnesota corporation owned and operated by 1986 Stout graduate Lisa Lynch and her husband Joe. Their daughter, McCall, is a 2017 UW-Stout graduate. This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior retail merchandising or today’s equivalent major and/or hotel, restaurant, and tourism management major who is a Minnesota or Wisconsin resident with a 3.0 or above GPA.The annual award is $500. Willa Rodencal Ruth E. Westfall Scholarship After many years of supporting Stout as a loyal alumna, Judy Rommel, a former professor in the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences, established this annual scholarship in honor of her mother, Ruth E. Westfall. A high school graduate, Ruth managed her home and family as a true family and consumer science professional and served as Judy’s inspiration. This scholarship is awarded to a student with financial need and majoring in human development and family studies or family and consumer sciences education with preference given to a minority student.
