2022 Scholarship Awards

Glenn L. Hardy Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established in memory of Glenn L. Hardy who passed away in 2009 as a result of pancreatic cancer. Graduating in 1965, Glenn had a great appreciation for the education he received from Stout State University. As a student, Glenn developed deep friendships through various organizations he was involved with, especially the wrestling team. In honor of Glenn’s appreciation for UW-Stout, friends and family have come together to establish this scholarship in his name. The scholarship is awarded to a junior who is a Wisconsin resident, first-generation student, and has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. It can be renewed for the student’s senior year with a maximum of one additional year if criteria is met. The annual award is $2,500. Madeline Olson Ruth Aaness Harmon Memorial Scholarship Ruth Aaness Harmon, a 1947 UW-Stout graduate, was a visionary in the area of professional credentialing and nutrition advocacy. She was one of the first to recognize the need for dietitians to be licensed. This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior dietetics major with a 3.0 or above GPA and who is a member of the American Dietetic Association student affiliate. The annual award is $300. Hannah Baumgart Margaret Harper Scholarship Margaret Harper taught food science at Stout from 1943 to 1967. This scholarship was established in her honor and is awarded to a senior family and consumer sciences education major with a 3.0 or above GPA. The annual award is $200. Amanda Taylor
