2022 Scholarship Awards

Rod and Sharon Hennig Annual Scholarship Rod Hennig is a 1985 graduate of UW-Stout. This scholarship is in appreciation of UW-Stout and the hotel and restaurant management program that provided a foundation to build a successful career. The annual award is $2,500. Alejandro Calixto Martinez Dr. James Herr Graphic Communications Endowed Scholarship Dr. James Herr was a faculty member at the university for 36 years. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UW-Stout and his doctorate degree from the University of Missouri. He developed and served as the program director of the graphic communication management degree and is a retired Navy veteran. This scholarship is awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior pursuing a degree in graphic communications with a minimum GPA of 2.5. The annual award is $1,100. Samuel Huss Dr. Judith Herr Early Childhood Scholarship Dr. Judy Herr was a faculty member at the university for 39 years. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UW-Stout, her doctorate degree from the University of Minnesota, and attended Harvard University’s management development program. Dr. Herr was active nationally and internationally. She was president of the Midwest Association of Young Children, board member of the National Association for Early Childhood Teacher Education as well as numerous other boards. Her books have been translated into the Spanish, Korean, Chinese and Arabic languages. Dr. Herr was also honored by Pia Chi University as the International Invitational Scholar and more recently received the James F. Huff Stout Award. This scholarship is awarded to an early childhood major who has senior standing with a 3.5 GPA or above and has met the requirements for admission into the school of education.
