2022 Scholarship Awards

Jeannette Slamen Houle Endowed Scholarship Jeannette Slamen Houle received a degree in family and consumer educational services from UW-Stout in 1939. She designated funds to UW-Stout to assist family and consumer sciences education majors. The annual award is $1,200. Josephine Finocchiaro House Specialties School of Education Endowed Scholarship House Specialties, Inc. was created in 1981 by Deanna House, a 1961 home economics education major. Through House Specialties, she and her husband published four cookbooks written by Deanna. Deanna’s career spanned multiple roles including teacher, speaker, and author. She enthusiastically credits the educational foundation received at UW-Stout for her success. Deanna, and late husband, George, have been long-time supporters of UW-Stout students. This scholarship is awarded to an education major. The annual award is $2,500. Bailey Iwen John and Marjory Hovelsrud Endowed Scholarship John Hovelsrud passed away in 1995.In memory of his successes in sales and marketing, family and friends established this scholarship for a senior student. The annual award is $500. Peter Arnold Barbara Dramburg Howard Dietetics Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established through a bequest from Barbara Dramburg Howard, a 1964 UW-Stout graduate. This scholarship is awarded to a dietetics major with a preference given to a student completing an internship. The annual award is $1,500. Ilkay Baseski H. Edwin Howe Scholarship H. Edwin Howe, a 1942 Stout graduate, was a professor in the printing department at Cal Poly Tech, San Luis Obispo for many years.
