Dallas and Edith Pankowski Endowed Scholarship Dallas Pankowski arrived on the UW-Stout campus at 7 a.m. the day of classes, having travelled by overnight milk train from Milwaukee. He had never visited a college campus nor had he ever known any college graduates other than his teachers. His first reaction was “Where is the university?” and “Is the town this small?” The train had stopped in north Menomonie, and Stout had its work cut out for itself. Dallas earned a B.S., taught at UW-Stout while earning an M.S. and married Edith, a Menomonie girl who worked at the Stout business office. He earned a doctorate in technology, taught a few years, and started a business. Edith earned a doctorate and taught interior design and interior architecture. This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding technology major of sophomore or higher standing who is a Wisconsin resident. The annual awards are $1,200 each. Morgan Arch Madison Rood Patricia Partridge Memorial Endowed Scholarship Patricia Gardiner Partridge, who attended UW-Stout in the 1940s, appreciated art in all its forms. This scholarship is a memorial to her and a way of giving something back to the arts she loved. The scholarship is awarded to a fine arts major. The annual award is $700. Ellie Eklof
