2022 Scholarship Awards
E. Robert Rudiger and Anna Liska Rudiger Endowed Scholarship It was the desire of Bob Rudiger, who passed away on July 28, 2008, to establish an endowed scholarship in memory of deceased family members. UW-Stout was a part of the Rudiger family for many years. Receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees in 1943 and 1964, Anna enjoyed her teaching experience at Stout. After she retired from teaching, she remained active in community and church organizations. Upon receiving his undergraduate and graduate degrees from 5the Stout Institute, Bob began his teaching career at UW-Stout in 1952. In his early years at UW-Stout, Bob was in charge of the alumni office in addition to his teaching responsibilities. For many years he was the chair of the industrial arts/ vocational education department. During this time, he was also active in state and national vocational education organizations. He also enjoyed supervising student teachers. Bob retired in 1982 after teaching for 30 years at UW-Stout. The Rudigers’ daughter, Roberta, received a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from UW-Stout in 1987. This scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a vocational technical teaching position at a post high school level as well as undergraduate students at the junior or senior levels who are majoring in technology education or apparel design and development. The annual award is $1,200. Brooke Nelson The Ruge Family Annual Scholarship Andy Ruge is a 1988 graduate of UW-Stout .This scholarship is in appreciation of UW-Stout and the hotel and restaurant and tourism management program that provided a foundation to build a successful career. The annual award is $1,000. Nathaen Wanta Nelva G. Runnalls Scholarship Nelva Runnalls served UW-Stout in many leadership capacities from 1966-1989. In recognition and support of the sacrifices involved in returning to school as a nontraditional student, her husband, James Runnalls, created this scholarship in her memory. The scholarship is awarded to a returning female graduate student. The annual award is $200. Tiffany Johnson
