Job Search in Handshake

Login and Make Sure Your Resume and Profle Are Up-to-Date: Go to myapps.uwstout.edu and log in using your UW-Stout Polytechnic username and password. Never written a resume before? See page 15 to get started. PRO TIP: A complete profle helps Handshake tailor job and internship recommendations to your interests, skills, and experience so you receive more relevant opportunities.

NOTE: In Handshake the use of the word “co-op” or “internship” to describe opportunities does not imply that the position has been approved for academic credit. Students seeking credit should review the Co-op & Internship Program framework earlier in this guide.

Finding internships, co-ops, professional positions & more: Step 1: On the home page, go to the side bar and select “jobs” Step 2: Use the search bar and flters to fnd relevant job postings. Select “all flters” to be more specifc.

Step 3: While browsing for jobs, you can click the bookmark button to save a job. If you fnd a job you’d like to apply to, click “apply.” Handshake will use your previously uploaded resume & cover letter to quickly apply. Some job postings require you to apply externally on the company’s website.
