PROGRAM INFORMATION/UPDATES Beginning in Fall 2022, UW-Stout will be offering a combined Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Special Education program. The program will continue to be offered on campus for students seeking certification for birth through Grade 3, and the program will be offered online for individuals who have completed an associate’s degree and are seeking a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood/early childhood special education. Information about the program – both on-campus and online – and program contact information can be found on our web site at www. uwstout.edu/programs/bs-early-childhood-education FACULTY SCHOLARSHIP Several education faculty members shared their research at UW-Stout’s annual Research Day on May 3: • Kimberly Martinez, Kathy Brock, and Greg Matthias – Student Voices: Strengths and Opportunities for Improvement in Online Instruction • Diane Klemme, Debbie Stanislawski, and Deanna Schultz – The Impact of Teacher Shortages on UW-Stout Career and Technical Education Student Teachers HONORS AND AWARDS • Dr. Debbie Stanislawski, Marketing & Business Education Program Director, received the 2022 FBLA Business Person of the Year Award at the Wisconsin FBLA State Conference March 28. • Two School of Education students, Olivia Bonlander (Art Education) and Tara Weber (Family & Consumer Sciences Education) received the Samuel E. Wood Medallion Award in May. This is the most prestigious non-academic award recognizing graduating seniors who have shown outstanding leadership in their student activities. • William VandenHeuvel (Technology Education) received the Wisconsin Technology Education Association Future Technology Education Scholarship at the state conference in March.
