OTHER SCHOOL OF EDUCATION HIGHLIGHTS: • Inside Stout Podcast: Teachers in Training – This podcast on March 9 highlighted teacher education and in particular the Early Childhood Education program. Featured in the podcast were Dr. Terry Kohlmeier , ECE faculty member, and Brianna North , a Spring 2022 student teacher. You can listen to it here: uwstout.buzzsprout.com • Education students had the opportunity to participate and network with professionals at state and national conferences within their discipline: Menomonie (AIM) to attend the Coalition of Schools: Educating Mindfully Convention held February 4-6 in Itasca, Illinois; six students received scholarships through the AIM grant to attend the National Art Education Association convention in New York City March 3-5. • Marketing & Business Education: Five students attended the National Business Education Association convention April 12-15 in Chicago. • Family & Consumer Sciences: Six students attended the Wisconsin Association of Family and Consumer Sciences conference March 3-4 in Onalaska. • Technology Education: Students who are members of the UW-Stout Technology & Engineering Education Collegiate Association attended the Wisconsin Technology Education Association conference March 17-18 in the Wisconsin Dells. • UW-Stout’s Phi Upsilon Omicron Tau Chapter learned in April that they were selected to host the 2024 national Conclave. This honor society for students in family and consumer sciences related programs was first organized at UW-Stout in 1933 and previously hosted Conclave 30 years ago. • Art Education students partnered with 4-H Clubs in Dunn, Chippewa, and Eau Claire counties this spring to provide online art classes to their members in grades kindergarten through 7th grade.
