She teaches at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Menomonie. UW-Stout Students Lauren Dillinger, Art Education student, and Alexis Setzer, Family & Consumer Sciences Education student, each received the 2023 Samuel E. Wood Medallion Award. This is the highest award given to seniors who demonstrate scholarship, leadership, and contributions to student activities. Bailey Iwen, Art Education student, received the Outstanding Student Leader of the Year Award for her work with

the National Art Education Association chapter on campus.

UW-Stout Alumni Kendra Haessley, a 1988 Early Childhood Education graduate, received a Crystal Apple Award from the Marshfield (WI) Area Chamber of Commerce. She is a kindergarten teacher and is retiring this year. Erin O’Brien, Math Education student, received the Student Employee of the Year Award as an employee of the Math Teaching and Learning Center. Payton Schneider, Art Education student, received UW-Stout’s Scholar Athlete Award for maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher while participating on the track team throughout her undergraduate career. Dr. Lindsay Barnhart, Early Childhood Education Program Director, was nominated for the Bill Siedlecki Advisor of the Year award. The Marketing and Business Education Association and Phi Upsilon Omicron Tau Chapter were nominated for the Student Organization of the Year award. Nominees for other campus awards included:

Faculty Research

Dr. Diane Klemme, Family & Consumer Sciences Education participated in the spring Research Day. Dr. Klemme was the first recipient of the Q Endowed Chair Award and presented research conducted with Wisconsin CTE Coordinators titled Influences on Career Selection. Dr. Lindsay Barnhart, Early Childhood Education, also participated in Research Day. Dr. Barnhart shared research from her dissertation titled Social Skill Development in Preschool Children: A Comparison of Two Curriculum Models.
