LIVING COMMUNITIES. > University Housing offers different living community options. If you are interested in any of the communities below you, will be able to apply for communities after completing your Housing and Dining preferences on the Housing Gateway. You may apply for any number of communities, but you must submit an application for each one individually.
FYE (First Year Experience) - Includes first-year students. TNE (The Next Experience) - Includes Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.
> Multicultural Living Community (FYE/TNE)
> This community is for any student interested in social justice and/or living in a diverse environment. Through opportunities to learn of multiculturalism, diversity, social justice, and identities we want our students invested in each other's successes, learning about inter cultural knowledge and understanding, and empowering future leaders to inspire change in their community/world. Students can expect to feel welcomed and supported as they navigate their first year experience *Some students will be part of The Stoutward Bound program. > International Living Community (TNE)
> The International Living Community is a space that includes both international and domestic students. When possible, domestic students will be paired with international students. We are seeking international and domestic interested in helping create a community that is inclusive to all, specifically students from another country, with different cultural practices and varying levels of English language skill. Students do not need to apply to this floor and are able to select a space on the floor at room selection as space is available.
> TRIO Student Support Services Living Community (FYE/TNE)
> A cohort of TRIO SSS participants create this living community that will be connected through various learning opportunities to help students' successful transition to college. To find out more about the TRIO SSS program, visit: www.uwstout.edu/trio
> Out@Stout Living Community (FYE/TNE)
> This community is for students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, any other sexual orientation or gender identity/expression and their friends and allies. This is a close-knit community with ample opportunity to engage and grow through LGBTQIA+ focused events and programs. This living community also will be an all-gender living community.
> Honors Living Community (FYE/TNE)
> This floor is a community that is focused on providing Stout Honors Program students with an academic experience within a social atmosphere. Participants work toward completing the requirements of the Honors Program. Students in the Honors Program are not required to live on the Honors floor.
