2020 Scholarship Reception Booklet

Leo F. Buscaglia Scholarship Leo Buscaglia was a nationally known author, television personality and college professor. The scholarship is a result of earnings from his first television program produced at UW-Stout. It assists a student who demonstrates humanitarian concern. The annual award is $1,300. Thomas Crippes Career and Technical Education Scholarship The scholarship is awarded to a graduate student enrolled in the M.S. or Ed.S. career and technical education major. Priority is given to those presently employed in a Wisconsin technical college. The annual award is $800. Anne McIntyre Alan J. and Ellen E. Carlson Scholarship Alan J. Carlson was a 1972 graduate of Stout State University with a BS in Business Administration, a minor in Psychology and received an Agriculture Extended Degree from UW-River Falls. Alan had a great love of conservation, nature, his community, and family. Alan served on the SSA as a Senator on the Financial Affairs Committee representing married students. The scholarship is established by Alan’s wife, Ellen Carlson, to honor her husband. Ellen retired after forty years of service in the Departments of Chemistry and Physics as the Academic Department Associate. Their strong ties to the University will be acknowledged by a scholarship awarded to a nontraditional student that is involved in the community. The annual award is $500. Lauren Christen Dawn E. Carlson Endowed Scholarship Dawn E. Carlson, a 1970 UW-Stout graduate, greatly appreciated all the family support and financial help she received while establishing her own dietetics career and initiated this scholarship to provide financial assistance to students on an unpaid internship in the dietetics field.
