Annual and Endowed Scholarships

Borton Construction, Inc. Endowed Construction Scholarship Fund Paul Borsheim graduated from UW-Stout in 1991 with a B.S. in industrial technology and a concentration in building construction. Paul started Borton Construction in La Crosse, Wis. in 1999. He and his wife Melissa, along with the leadership team at Borton Construction, support continued education in construction-related fields. Borton Construction is pleased to provide both high school and college students with scholarships for higher education through the endowments they have established with local high schools and universities. This scholarship is awarded to either a sophomore, junior, or senior construction major with a 3.0 or higher GPA. The annual award is $1,000. Garett Giertuga Boston Scientific Packaging Engineering Scholarship The Boston Scientific Packaging Engineering Scholarship was created to complement Boston Scientific Corporation’s core mission of improving lives through innovation. In keeping with this mission, the Boston Scientific research and development packaging department seeks to improve educational opportunities for students within UW-Stout’s packaging program. This scholarship is awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior packaging major with a 3.0 or higher GPA. The annual award is $3,000. Benjamin Lindgren Bida Lou Braker Scholarship This scholarship was established by the family and friends of Bida Lou Braker to support UW-Stout students working toward a career in teaching. After the early death of her husband, Bida provided room and board to countless UW-Stout students, serving as a mother away from home. This scholarship is awarded to an education major of junior or above standing. The annual award is $200. Payton Schneider Donald R. Bredahl Memorial Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established in memory of Donald Bredahl by his wife and children. Donald was given a scholarship and was therefore able to get his degree from UW-Stout in 1951. He taught industrial education for a few years and then went into manufacturing as a manager in the aerospace industry. This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior education major with financial need. The annual
