Annual and Endowed Scholarships

Fulton and Edna Holtby Endowed Scholarship Fulton Holtby was a mechanical engineering professor at the University of Minnesota and a consulting engineer/expert witness in the field of engineering, materials, process and design. He provided scholarship funds through his estate for manufacturing engineering majors with demonstrated financial need. The annual awards are $1,000 each. Kevin Damm Jeffrey Sabelko Levi Douty Morgan Young Kase Kleinschmidt Trevor Zeyen Carson Larrabee Shane M. Hopfensperger Memorial Scholarship A 2002 graduate of the UW-Stout construction program, Shane Hopfensperger passed away on Feb. 28, 2004. At the time of his death, he was a project superintendent at the University of Chicago Business School. This scholarship was established by Shane’s family through a fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region. The scholarship provides assistance to an undergraduate construction major with financial need who is a member of the Student Construction Association. The annual award is $750. Derek Johnson Curtis A. Hostager Industrial Design Scholarship The family of Curtis Hostager established this scholarship in his memory. Curt graduated magna cum laude in 1987 and was an industrial designer at 3M. A sky diving enthusiast, he died in 1991 as a result of an airplane collision. This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior industrial design major with a 3.25 or above GPA. The annual award is $1,000. Sydney George Jeannette Slamen Houle Endowed Scholarship Jeannette Slamen Houle received a degree in family and consumer educational services from UW-Stout in 1939. She designated funds to UW-Stout to assist family and consumer sciences education majors. The annual award is $1,100. Alexis Setzer
