Stout University Foundation Scholarships

Barbara L. ( Williams ) and Robert P. Sorensen Endowed Scholarship The Sorensens met while attending UW-Stout. They received a valuable education that benefitted both as they pursued their careers in education, business, and community involvement. This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior who entered UW-Stout as a returning adult student. The determination and perseverance needed to peruse academic goals, while juggling all the commitments of adult life, is honored with this scholarship. The annual award is $1,100. Erin Meuer Charles W. Sorensen Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established by the Stout University Foundation Board of Directors in honor of Emeritus Chancellor Charles W. Sorensen’s retirement from UW-Stout in 2014 after 26 years of outstanding and innovative leadership. The Foundation Board wanted to recognize Sorensen for his leadership, fundraising achievements, and tireless work with donors and alumni. Throughout his tenure, Sorensen’s vision was driven by maintaining and expanding UW-Stout’s lifelong mission of a hands-on, applied approach to learning. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time incoming first-year student who is a first-generation college student with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The annual award is $1,600. Trent Geno Steiner/Milnes Scholarship Created by UW-Stout graduates, Jack and Marjory Steiner Milnes, this scholarship recognizes the support and guidance their parents provided while they were undergraduates at UW-Stout. This scholarship is awarded to juniors and seniors with financial need and outstanding academic records. Annual awards are $3,450 each.
