Wilson Golf Group Scholarship The Wilson Golf Group is committed to the business of golf and has established this scholarship to foster the next generation of leaders. The Wilson Golf Group believes the skills of business acumen and customer-oriented service are vital to the long-term success of the golf business and are a strong foundation for students to grow in any career. This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in golf enterprise management or hotel, restaurant, and tourism management with a GPA of 3.0 or higher with preference given to students who have interned at a Wilson Golf Group facility. The annual awards are $1,000 each. Matthew Mueller Sean Weber Karl J. and Jean A. Pengilly Windberg Endowed Scholarship Karl J. Windberg, B.S.1950 industrial education, and Jean A. Pengilly Windberg, B.S. 1952 home economics, together spent 63 years in public education. Karl served in the Navy, worked for General Motors Institute, and taught for most of his career. In fact, he wrote the first course of study in the United States for power mechanics. Jean’s entire career was in teaching, and it was one of her biggest passions. Her students attribute their success in their careers to Jean’s classes. They greatly appreciated the content she taught, her honesty, and creativity in the field. When she “retired”, she substitute taught for 20 years. Her classrooms and her students were first and foremost. Karl and Jean were successful educators and established this scholarship for students who are interested in family and consumer sciences or technology education. The annual awards are $1,500 each. Joseph E. and Dorothea R. Winek Endowed Scholarship With a great appreciation for the education they received from the Stout Institute, Dorothea Jain Winek, 1946 , has established a generous scholarship in memory of her husband, Joseph E. Winek, B.S. 1946, M.S. 1952. With more than 60 years of teaching between them, Joe and Dorothy were committed teachers dedicated to providing an excellent education to all students. Dorothy wishes to honor the memory of her husband by providing financial assistance to a student with a major in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
