2022 Scholarship Awards
Richard Johnson Memorial Scholarship Dick Johnson grew up in rural Menomonie. Dick had a passion to fix, build and restore anything with a motor. Dick did not attend or graduate from UW-Stout, but he always had a great appreciation for education. Dick left Menomonie in his early 20’s for the Air Force where he repaired and maintained B-36 and B-52 aircraft. He went on to work for Minneapolis Moline and The TORO Company. This scholarship is in Dick’s memory to support a future engineer. The annual award is $1,200. Coy Stasiek Paul Frederick Kabot Memorial Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established in memory of Paul Frederick Kabot, (Oct. 13, 1911, to Sept. 24, 1933), by his brother Byron Kabot, who is now deceased. Paul was an excellent student, championship golfer, a gentle man, and much loved son and brother who passed away in his senior year of medical school at the University of Minnesota. This scholarship is awarded to a student with an outstanding academic record and demonstrated financial need. Priority is given to a studentenrolled in a pre-medical course of study. The annual award is $2,300. Ella Dreiling-Schaefer Kainski Freshman Scholarship Drs. Mercedes and John Kainski were both UW-Stout faculty. They funded this scholarship to assist an incoming first-year students with potential and financial need. The annual award is $300. Eve Folstad Jessie May Erlin Kaiser Endowed Scholarship A 1911 Stout graduate, Jessie Kaiser established this scholarship fund to assist students majoring in dietetics, food science and technology, early childhood education, family and consumer sciences education, hotel, restauraunt, and tourism management, human development and family studies, psychology, or vocational rehabilitation. .
