2022 Scholarship Awards
Hub O. and Patricia B. Ranger Endowed Packaging Scholarship Both Patricia and Hub recognized the importance of education. Patricia served as the admissions director for Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee. Hub held various positions in the packaging industry and established Lachat Instruments Co. in 1981. He held four patents in packaging, construction, and testing devices. Mr. Ranger was a UW-Stout PMMI professor from 1987 through 1989 and while working in that capacity, realized we lost many bright students because they lacked the finances to continue their education. This scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to talented UW-Stout packaging majors. The annual Rath Foundation Academic Scholarship Duane Rath was an industrialist from Janesville, Wis., who served on the UW-Stout Board of Business and Industrial Advisors in the early 1980s. He understood the importance of engineering programs and, through his foundation, established funds for engineering scholarships. This scholarship is awarded to incoming first year or transfer students from University of Wisconsin colleges or Wisconsin technical colleges majoring in engineering. Recipients must have maintained a 3.8 GPA while in high school and finished in the top five percent nationally on ACT scores with preference given to Wisconsin residents. This scholarship is renewable for up to three years if a 3.5 GPA is maintained. The annual awards are a full-ride scholarship to include tuition, campus housing, and standard meal plan.
