Stout University Foundation Scholarships
Prevail Annual Scholarship As a resident of Dane County, the donor supports the guiding principles of The Wisconsin Idea, which is that public universities should improve the lives of people beyond the borders of campus. The Donor established this scholarship to assist students who prevail even with the financial burden that adds to the numerous obstacles students face to obtain an education. The donor recognizes that a student’s efforts to better their life through education, has the capacity to improve the lives of others. The annual award is $1,000. Lou Brown Pride Alliance Rainbow Scholarship The Pride Alliance Rainbow Scholarship was established to reward students for their demonstrated participation in and contribution to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning community. This scholarship is open to any year of study, with a financial need, and participation and leadership roles in activities and organizations geared toward LGBTQ+ students. Lynn Pritchard Memorial Scholarship Lynn Pritchard was “Mr. Music” in the UW-Stout and Menomonie communities. After he died in a car accident in 1983, friends and family established this fund to provide a scholarship for a student involved in a music program. The annual award is $400. Kyle Knitter Albert J. Rakstis Scholarship Albert J. Rakstis served in the military and then enrolled at UW-Stout to obtain a master’s degree in media technology in 1969. Established through a bequest, this scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in information technology management. The annual award is $900. Miranda Bielecki
